Dactyl innovates again: A functional website is more than a good image
June 8, 2022
You must have noticed that we have had a new website for a few months now. It much better reflects the whole Dactyl and its current direction. But it's not just a great business card. We've packed the site with functional tweaks that will make it more efficient to manage and delight our visitors.
Wondering what it looks like when developers build on their own turf? Come have a look with us.
What a nice website... and does it work?
Our previous website didn't do badly. It looked decent. But it was no longer keeping up with our demands. It's not just about the look. At Dactyl, we're used to constant and rapid development.
As the company grows, our focus on more complex and large-scale project types is changing. This brings new clients with more demanding requirements to us. Therefore, we want to clearly communicate the issues and our company and offer fast, efficient and cost-effective solutions.
For this reason, we needed a functional website that would present the current Dactyl and its vision for the future. And that's exactly what we created.
Custom solutions have many advantages
Seeing the whole thing from the other perspective was a valuable experience but also a challenge. On the other hand, we were able to make our work easier and save time.
We have improved the web administration, basically the whole backend. Updating or adding content is now a joy.
We had everything carefully planned from the first drafts. You always have to go into development with a balance-sheet. Even a sophisticated and attractive website design does not necessarily guarantee a quality and useful website.
Authentic photo shoots and animation bring more life the design
Making your own website is a big deal for a lot of technically oriented companies. Finding the right style is not fun. That's why we thoroughlytested our target audience. We wanted our visitors to know they were in good hands as soon as they opened the site.
We also took care with the visuals.
We used thoughtful animations and authentic photos. We wanted to capture unique shots directly from our working environment, so we enlisted the help of a professional photographer.
As a result, the website is more user-friendly, purposeful and true to our values.
The shoemaker's son has a new website finally
The development of website has taken a long time. Our priorities are always client projects. The extra work was like a church and we certainly didn't want to take anything away.
In the end it tooks more than 1000 hours to create the new website.
We went the way of the modern trends and technologies. Everything outdated had to go. Compared to its predecessor, the current website is a much better reflection of Dactyl and its qualities, direction and goals.
What makes our new website stand out?
Great readability and clarity,
modern design,
maximum functionality,
user-friendly environment.
It certainly doesn't end with the launch of the website. We are still collecting and evaluating data. So we know we are on the right track! The bounce rate has dropped significantly and visitors are spending much more time on the site.
