Handy festival assistant in your pocket

When someone mentions music festivals, which one comes to your mind? Although everybody has different music preferences, a lot of Czechs immediately think of Rock for People - that's because it is one of the greatest. And its visitors carry in their pockets or purses an app made by Dactyl. At least until their phone runs out of battery or they lose it…  

We have been working on the festival app Rock for People for Android and Apple systems with Dactyl Group for a long time. Before the beginning of our cooperation, we had encountered frequent errors in both applications. After the applications had been modified by Dactyl, these flaws disappeared. Besides their functionality, we also appreciate good communication, budgeting, meeting the deadlines, immediate resolution of any problem, and the ideas to improve and solve our current demands.

Application for a festival chill

Paper guides will remain a classic, however, they might not always be up to date. Mobile app Rock for People can do a lot. It represents the easiest way to be informed about the program during the festival, not to miss any important performers, receive all relevant notifications and even have an overview of the good places to eat. 

Functional event solution - a task for professionals

The first version of the mobile app Rock for People (one for iOS, another one for Android) was developed by the volunteers who belonged to the keen visitors of the festival. Unfortunately, these apps were highly flawed, had neither a unified graphic design nor reliable tech support. Over the years, Rock For People has realized that they need a reliable, experienced, and long-term partner to take care of their mobile applications so that everything works like a charm and pleases their visitors.

On the way to the best festival app on the market 

During the first years of our cooperation, we have only made small adjustments and provided technical support in order to keep the app functioning. However, this situation was unsustainable in the long term, therefore for the year 2018, we had completely rewritten both applications. We have started with a diligent analysis and a redesign proposal according to the latest trends.

The key is a clean and well-maintained code

The next step was discarding the original code and reprogramming the whole application from the scratch. We have not forgotten about testing the app before its launch either. The results are tuned festival applications, which we keep on developing. Over time, we have added new functions, such as a list of the food stands or an overview of other events taking place during the year with an option to purchase the tickets.
